My Story

All I ever wanted to be when I was growing up was an Artist. Every moment I had spare was spent drawing and painting.

I dreamed of becoming an illustrator - which would mean studying in Germany - Mum wasn’t keen on that so I didn’t go.

Life moved on as it does, and suddenly I had a family of my own to look after.

I still did drawings and paintings, but just for family and friends and my own pleasure.

My husband was very encouraging about me taking my artwork more seriously.

We cleared out the spare room and I set up a teeny tiny studio space - and I loved it

Small craft or art studio space with a drafting table, gray office chair, white desk, shelves filled with art supplies, wall-mounted pegboard with tools, colorful marker or paint bottles, and a window with curtains. Text reads 'Teeny Tiny Studio Space' in red at the top.

Every evening after work and at weekends if I had any spare time I would be found in there. My husband set up a website for me, and through word of mouth I started getting clients wanting their pets drawn. I got busier and busier and was struggling to keep up with the commissions so I took the huge leap of giving up work and went full time as an artist.

Scary and exciting all at the same time.

Our children grew up and moved out, we were empty nesters!

My husband also worked from home so we decided to move to the seaside to take advantage of a quieter life.

We bought a new house and I had my very own studio built in the garden!!

What an amazing moment that was!

Now, I have a job I love, drawing peoples pets gives me so much joy! And seeing the clients face when they receive their artwork gives me that warm fuzzy feeling that only comes from making someone else happy.

I’m now venturing onto YouTube, where I’ll be uploading short time lapse videos and longer how to videos so make sure you click on the links in my blog and follow me - you don’t want to miss out.

So, that’s my story in a nutshell.

I do hope you like my art. If you’d like to commission me to draw your pet or special person you can reach out to me on the contact form or via Instagram and Facebook.

Much Love
